Happy New Year to you all, hope next year would be a better year even if the world is in a financial crisis.
As a tech guy here are some of my predictions next year.
1) Android would be bigger, we’re taking worldwide not just US, China with China Mobile would add to the android power, and China Fakes phones would add a lot to it, expect this will happen since the OS is free.
2) Since android would be big, the next logical side effect is that Google search would be larger, it would crack new markets and enhance its market shares in countries like China (baidu) and Japan (Yahoo)
3) Apple would release Snow Leopard late 2009.
4) Microsoft would not release Windows 7 to consumer but would release it to their partners. Windows 7 would not have WAY TOO MANY versions but if so then they didn’t learn anything from Vista.
5) Linux would go higher than 2% in consumer pc market.
6) Adobe would finally announce that the next version of some of its application would be available in linux, i’m seeing Ubuntu, RedHat and Suse distro getting it.
7) Google or Microsoft would buy some big IT companies that is in deep financial trouble.
Facebook would still be the most talked social networking but Facebook Social Connect would not be that successful.
9) There would be more virus, malware next year due to the financial crisis. Sorry if you got layoff.
10) Microsoft would finally kill IE (this is my dream), i would wish this to happen until they support standards like Canvas and MathML and force other developers to learn standards and not just change the freaking meta tag to say that your site is IE8 compatible.
